The Game Maker sighed, a sound of deep sadness. "Ah, I see. Just like me, then. I created this world, crafted every pixel and code, but became trapped in my own creation. The game became more complex, evolving beyond my control." He rose from his seat, approaching Vanda. "But you, you have something I never had—a way to change things. The artifacts you’ve collected, they can free us both. The key is in how they are used together." Together, they examined the artifacts Vanda had collected: the Trident of Tides, the Light of Valor, the rare gear from Cogsworth, and the Pendant of Prophecy. The Game Maker explained that each artifact had a specific energy signature that, when combined correctly, could reset parts of the game, potentially opening a portal back to the real world. With Pip’s help, Vanda placed each artifact at points around the chamber, forming a circle. The Game Maker began a sequence of code, his fingers moving rapidly across a holographic keyboard that appeared in the air. As the final line of code was entered, the artifacts glowed, their energies intertwining and creating a swirling vortex in the centre of the room. The vortex pulsed with light and power, growing larger and more stable. "This is it," the Game Maker said, his voice filled with a mix of hope and regret. "Go through the portal, and you should return to where you belong. And perhaps, I will find my way as well." Vanda nodded, taking a deep breath. He thanked the Game Maker, and with Pip clinging to his shoulder, he stepped into the portal, the light enveloping them as they braced themselves for whatever lay on the other side.
