NAVIGATE YOUR PATH TO SUCCESS As National Interstate makes a push to grow new business in portions of the country, we want to incentivize you for helping us along the way! This year, we are continuing to offer a 2% commission increase for any new Traditional Truck or SmartFleet business in target states. In addition to WA, OR, ID, CO, WY, NE, MN & WI , we have now also expanded this incentive to IA, IN, ME and VT !

INSURANCE OPTIONS For our SmartFleet and Traditional programs, we offer first dollar options, along with a range of deductible sizes to fit your insured’s needs. FIRST DOLLAR First dollar insurance, often called guaranteed cost, may be the right solution if your insured prefers to transfer all of their risk to National Interstate. DEDUCTIBLE If your insured is looking to lower their upfront premium cost and take on a limited amount of risk, a deductible option may be right for them. Package pricing is available for multi-line customers.
YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED Does this apply to renewal business?
The increased commission does not apply to current National Interstate renewal business. Traditional fleet will default to 10%. SmartFleet will default to 12%. If the producer wants to keep the increased commission percentage, they will be required to sell the renewal at the updated amount. Is the target state determined by where the account is located or where the agency is located? The incentive is based on where the account is located, not where the agency is located. Is the commission auditable? Yes, the commission will be paid and adjusted for final audit results. The agency will be responsible for return commissions if there is a return premium for an account.
