WFIMC 2026 YEARBOOK

VAN CLIBURN INTERNATIONAL PIANO COMPETITION Fort Worth, Texas, USA

WFIMC Member since 1977

The Cliburn exists to share excellent classical music with the largest international audience possible (in 2022, 60 million in 177 countries) and to launch the careers of its winners every four years (recently: Aristo Sham, Yunchan Lim, Anna Genuishene, Yekwon Sunwoo, Vadym Kholodenko, Beatrice Rana). Its rich tradition—to which it remains ever true—began in 1962 to honor Van Cliburn and his vision for supporting young artists and the highest of artistic achievement, and for using music to break down boundaries. Beyond cash prizes, winning a Cliburn medal means comprehensive career management, artistic support, and bolstered publicity efforts (total value est. USD 2 Million).
