INTERNATIONAL VOCAL COMPETITION ‘S-HERTOGENBOSCH (IVC) s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands

WFIMC Member since 1959

An intensive international platform for emerging opera and oratorio singers, offering artistic development as well as international visibility. Finalists perform with the Philzuid Symphony Orchestra under Grammy Award- winning conductor Karen Kamensek, receive individual feedback from an international jury chaired by Sir David Pountney, and showcase their talent to leading casting directors and agents. The competition combines high-level performance with genuine career support: masterclasses, coaching, mental well-being resources, travel support, and accommodation with host families. All participants perform both opera and oratorio repertoire, and every singer premieres the newly commissioned work “Feathers” by Dutch Composer Laureate Anne-Maartje Lemereis, underscoring a strong commitment to contemporary creation. Singers also gain global exposure through OperaVision’s international livestream.
