Established in 1985 and held every four years, the Kobe International Flute Competition (KIFC) discovers and supports outstanding young flutists worldwide, offering them opportunities to build international careers while fostering cultural exchange through music. The KIFC also enriches the cultural life of Kobe through initiatives such as school outreach programs that bring live music to young audiences. Recognized as one of the few competitions devoted solely to the flute, it has launched many leading flutists’ careers.
