A Competition with a Difference. The Carl Nielsen International Competition is entering a new phase with focus on the individual instruments in the competition portfolio. Each competition will focus on the technical and artistic excellence of the participants by among other things inviting an international, high standard jury. Each competition will include music for the three instruments – flute, clarinet and violin – by Carl Nielsen. Each competition will also be focusing broadly on community, workshops, chamber events and talks as part of the competition period.
