The Competition was founded in 1985. Organised as always by the musical Foundation that bears the Maestro’s name, the Competition has always been considered one of the most important in the world dedicated to the discovery of new talent in the orchestral conducting field, and it is justly renowned for the severity with which contestants are judged during the various phases of selection, but also for the important opportunities that it offers.
