The quadrennial Tbilisi International Piano Competition was founded in 1997 with the initiative of the prominent Georgian pianist, public figure and the competition’s artistic director through 2022 - Manana Doijashvili. The competition has been an aspirational meeting platform for gifted young pianists and internationally acclaimed panel of judges, as well as music critics and various hall managers from all around the world. Focused on creating an affable atmosphere for the contestants and a peaceful working environment for the jurors, the competition has remained faithful to the highest performing, artistic and organizational standards set forth since its foundation.
