The Khachaturian International Competition is held annually in Yerevan, Armenia, and aims to reveal young talented musicians in four disciplines: piano, violin, cello, and conducting. The Khachaturian International Competition was established on June 6, 2003, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of renowned Armenian composer Aram Khachaturian. Organized by the “Aram Khachaturian” Cultural Foundation in collaboration with the Republic of Armenia’s Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport, the competition continues to celebrate and promote young musical talent. The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, led by its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan, is the official orchestra of the competition. Over the years, the Khachaturian International Competition has attracted young musicians from all over the world, offering them not only a stage but also international recognition, mentorship, and the chance to connect with distinguished jury members, world-class artists, and leading cultural institutions.
