Established in 2007, the Evgeny Svetlanov International Conducting Competition is committed to selecting and supporting the most promising young conductors, offering them the opportunity to conduct world-renowned orchestras and benefit from exceptional artistic visibility. Previous editions have been held in Luxembourg, Montpellier, Paris (twice), and Monte-Carlo. International and itinerant by nature, the Competition reflects the global legacy left by Evgeny Svetlanov. Eighteen conductors are selected from over 350 applicants for each edition. Notably, more than 80% of participants go on to pursue distinguished international careers — affirming the Competition’s vital role in shaping the future of classical music.
