Džarmuš otvara Beogradski film festival Jarmusch to open Belgrade Film Festival
B eogradski film festival je nova stanica za najznačajnija svetska filmska ostvarenja koja na jed- nom mestu okuplja debitante i afirmi- sane autore, arthaus poetiku i žanrov- ski film. U srpsku prestonicu donosi duh najvećih evropskih i svetskih fe- stivala i otvara prostor za susret film- skih profesionalaca i publike kroz ek- skluzivne domaće premijere, razgovore sa autorima i tribinski program. Od prvog izdanja, Festival nastoji da do- maćoj publici ponudi širok spektar fil- mova koji su obeležili proteklu godinu – od visokobudžetnih studijskih pro- dukcija, preko ostvarenja ovenčanih nagradama sa velikih festivala, do hra- brih debitantskih ostvarenja i to to- kom osam dana, od 30. januara do 6. februara 2026. Program Festivala donosi širok spek- tar savremenog svetskog filma – od ar- thaus poetika i snažnih drama, preko društveno i politički angažovanih pri- ča, do hrabro stilizovanih žanrovskih ostvarenja iz Evrope, Amerike, Azije i Latinske Amerike. Posebno mesto zau- zima jaka francuska selekcija, kao i upe- čatljiv izbor filmova iz Japana i Južne Koreje. Festival otvara „Father Mot- her Sister Brother“ Džima Džarmuša, dobitnik „Zlatnog lava“ na Filmskom festivalu u Veneciji 2025.
T he Belgrade Film Festival represents a new stop for the world’s most impor- tant film productions, which brings together in one place debutantes and estab- lished filmmakers, arthouse poetics and gen- re films. Bringing to the Serbian capital the spirit of the biggest European and world fes- tivals, it provides opportunities for film in- dustry professionals and audiences to meet through exclusive domestic premieres, dis- cussions with filmmakers and a panel de- bate programme. From its inaugural edition, this festival is striving to offer the local au- dience a wide range of films that marked the past year – from big budget studio pro- ductions, via achievements crowned with
awards at major festivals, to courageous de- buts – over the course of eight days, from 30 th January to 6 th February 2026. The BFF programme includes a wide range of works from contemporary world cinema - from art-house poetics and powerful dra- mas, via socially and politically engaged sto- ries, to boldly stylised genre-specific works from Europe, the U.S., Asia and Latin Amer- ica. Occupying a special place at this first edition is a strong French selection, as well as an impressive selection of films from Ja- pan and South Korea. The festival opens with Jim Jarmusch’s Father Mother Sister Brother, winner of the 2025 Venice Film Festival’s Golden Lion. B oston Police homicide detective Jane Riz- zoli and medical examiner Maura Isles in- vestigate what seems to be a senseless mur- der. Sofia Suarez, a widow and nurse who is liked universally, was found beaten to death in her own home. But nothing is as it seems behind closed doors, and Sofia had covert conversations through untraceable phone numbers in the last days of her life. When Jane connects Sofia to the forgotten case of a motor accident, the mystery becomes even more complicated. What exact- ly was Sofie involved in? One thing is certain: the killer will do anything to keep their secret hidden. As Jane and Maura struggle to unrav- el the case of Sofia’s death, something much darker may be threatening to consume them...
