RITAM GRADA / RHYTHM OF THE CITY
GREEN – UNIQUE PARKS Topčider and Košutnjak are the classic choices when it comes to Belgrade’s parks, but Ušće (The Confluence), which connects New Bel-
grade and Zemun, is one of Europe’s largest urban parks. Kilometres of walking lanes, lawned gardens, sheltered oases and views of both riv- er courses offer a surprising dose of serenity in a city that’s constant- ly on the boil. Bela – Kalemegdan u tišini Sneg koji prekrije zidine tvrđave, stubove, statue, prolaze i skrivene bastione pretvara ovo mesto u potpuno drugačiji svet. WHITE – TRANQUIL KALEMEGDAN When snow covers its ramparts, pillars, statues, passages and hid- den bastions, the city fortress is transformed into a completely different world. White is also the colour of the Cathedral Church, with its façades glistening under the winter sky. Kalemegdan is at its most beautiful in win- ter — tranquil, dignified and filled with panoramic views of the Danube.
SILVER – CITY OF BRIDGES Belgrade at night is a silver city: with the lights shimmering on the water, the cables of Ada Bridge, reflections on the glass buildings of New Belgrade and the Belgrade Waterfront, pano- ramic views from Branko’s Bridge and Gazela Bridge that make even the most ordinary passing a wonder to behold. One par- ticularly striking scene unfolds when viewing the city from the direction of the Zemun quay, where silver lines of bridges per- fectly match the horizon.
