وإدراج الفاية على قائمة التّراث العالمي لليونســـــكو لا يُرسّـــــخ مكانة الشارقة على خريطة التّراث الدوليّة فحســـــب، بل يضمن أيضًا أن يواصل هذا الماذ الصحراوي دوره في التّثقيف والإلهام وبناء الجسور بين الأجيال. وفي ســـــكون الصّحراء العربيّة المترامية الأطراف، تذكّرنـــــا الفاية بأن ماضينا لم يندثر؛ إنّه يتنفّس تحت الكثبان، ينتظر كل زائر وباحث وراو ليشـــــهد على انتصار الإنســـــان أمام أقســـــى الظّروف. ولعل الرّمال تتناثر مع الرّياح، غير أن إرث الفاية باقٍ، يُؤكّد حضوره عبر الزّمن. معلومات سريعة كيلومترًا شـــــرق الشـــــارقة، بين جبـــــال الحجر وحافّة 50 على بُعد الموقـــــع: • صحراء الرّبع الخالي. أُدرج على قائمة اليونسكو للتّراث العالمي المكانة في قائمة التّراث العالمي: • ضمن فئة المشهد الثقافيّ. 2025 عام آلاف عام من الحضور البشري المتواصل. 210 أكثر من الإرث الإنساني: • مرحلة من الاستيطان في عصور ما قبل التّاريخ. 18 العمق الأثريّ: • عامًا من الأبحاث التي قادها خبراء دوليّون 50 أكثر من الاكتشـــــاف العلميّ: • وباحثون من دولة الإمارات. يمكن استكشاف الفاية عبر منتزه بحيص الجيولوجي ومتنزه • زيارته اليوم: مليحة الوطنيّ، اللّذين يقدّمان جولات إرشاديّة، ومعارض تفاعليّة وتجارب صحراويّة متخصّصة.
Faya’s inscription as a UNESCO World Heritage site not only ce- ments Sharjah’s place on the global heritage map but also ensures that this desert sanctuary continues to educate, inspire, and con- nect people across generations. In the vast silence of the Arabian desert, Faya reminds us that our past is not lost—it breathes beneath the dunes, waiting for every visitor, scholar, and storyteller to witness the triumph of human- ity against the harshest odds. The sands may shift, but the legacy of Faya is eternal. كمـــــا يجـــــري العمل على تطبيـــــق لوائح صارمـــــة للقيادة خـــــارج الطّرق المعبّدة، إلى جانب إنشـــــاء شـــــبكة مراقبـــــة متقدّمة مـــــزوّدة بكاميرات وأجهزة استشـــــعار للحركـــــة ومجسّـــــات بيئيّةٍ، بهدف حمايـــــة الثّروات الطبيعيّة والأثريّة ورصدها على نحو مستمرّ. المجتمع في قلب المشهد منـــــذ البداية، حرصت هيئة الشـــــارقة للآثـــــار على إشـــــراك المجتمعات المحليّـــــة بصورة فعّالـــــة، إدراكًا لمـــــا تمتلكه من معرفة دقيقـــــة بأهميّة المشـــــهد الثقافي القديم للفاية والتحدّيـــــات التي يُواجهها. هذه الخبرة المحليّة لا تُثري أساليب الإدارة المستدامة وحماية الموقع فحسب، بل تُسهم أيضًا في دعم التنمية الثقافيّة والاقتصاديّة للمنطقة. ويُشـــــارك الســـــكّان المحليّون في هذه الجهود عبر مســـــارين أساسيّين: المســـــار الأوّل يتمثّل في دورهـــــم كأصحاب مصلحة فـــــي إعداد خطّة إدارة الموقـــــع، وهـــــو دور يســـــاعد على تحديـــــد الأهـــــداف والأولويّات الاستراتيجيّة. أمّا المسار الثاني، فيتمثّل في مشاركتهم كمرشدين في متنـــــزه مليحة الوطنيّ، حيث ينقلون فهمهم العميق لطبيعة المكان، ممّا يُعزّز الصّلة بين المجتمع والموقع، ويُثري تجارب الزوّار. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، تتعاون هيئة الشارقة للآثار مع الشّركات والمؤسّسات المحليّـــــة لدعـــــم الجوانب المختلفة مـــــن إدارة الفاية، ليُســـــهم ذلك في تحقيق منافع ملموســـــة للمنطقـــــة المحيطة، ولضمـــــان أن تصب جهود الحفاظ على الموقع في مصلحة الأهالي على المدى القريب والطّويل. رسالة عابرة للأزمان يُمثّل المشـــــهد الثقافي لعصور ما قبل التّاريخ في الفاية أكثر من مجرّد طبقات من الحجر والرّمل؛ إنّه تذكير حي بقدرة أســـــافنا الاســـــتثنائيّة علـــــى الصّمود والتكيّـــــف. فمن أوائـــــل الصيّادين وجامعـــــي القوت إلى مســـــتوطني العصر البرونزيّ، يســـــرد الموقع حكاية متكاملة عن البقاء والابتكار وقوّة روح الإنسان أمام تحوّلات البيئة وتحدّياتها. وفي هذا المكان، لا تطمس الصّحراء الماضي، بل تُبقيه نابضًا، هامســـــة بالحقيقـــــة ذاتها عبـــــر الألفيّات: إن قصّة الإنســـــان لم تبدأ فـــــي الرّخاء والرّفاه، بل في الشّجاعة في مواجهة المجهول.
Yet with popularity comes responsibility. Unregulated off-roading and dune safaris west of the Faya Range have begun to threaten the integrity of delicate sand formations. The SAA’s 2024–2030 Conservation Plan is addressing this head-on by introducing designated safari routes and reg- ulated hiking trails to protect sensitive zones. Plans are also underway to implement strict off-road regulations and an advanced surveillance network - equipped with cameras, motion detec- tors, and environmental sensors - to safeguard both natural and archae- ological treasures. COMMUNITY AT THE CORE From the outset, SAA has actively engaged local communities, recognis- ing their unique insights into the Faya Palaeolandscape’s significance and challenges. This knowledge not only informs the sustainable manage- ment and protection of the site but also contributes to the region’s cultural and economic development. Local residents have been involved in two ways. First, they participate as stakeholders in the preparation of the site’s management plan, helping to identify strategic objectives and priorities. Second, they serve as guides at the Mleiha National Park, sharing their rich understanding of the land- scape while strengthening the connection between the community and the site. Additionally, SAA collaborates with local businesses to support various as- pects of Faya’s management, ensuring that conservation efforts generate tangible benefits for the surrounding region. A MESSAGE ACROSS TIME The Faya Palaeolandscape is more than layers of stone and sand - it is a reminder of the outstanding resilience and adaptability of our ancestors. From the earliest hunter-gatherers to Bronze Age settlers, the site tells a story of survival, creativity, and the enduring human spirit. Here, the desert does not bury the past - it keeps it alive, whispering the same truth across millennia: that humanity’s story began not in comfort, but in courage in the face of the unknown.
