Afaaq Thaqafiyya – Cultural Blueprints
إن الثـــــروة الحقيقيّة لوطننا تكمن في اســـــتمراريّة السّـــــرد بين الماضي والحاضر، وفي الحكاية المشتركة التي تواصل رسم مامح رؤيتنا. وعلى مســـــتوى العالم العربيّ، تقـــــف الفاية كركيـــــزة للتّاريخ الجماعي وللفخر العلميّ، مُقدّمة دلائل تُعيد ترســـــيخ شبه الجزيرة العربيّة كمهد للعبقريّة البشريّة، ووطن أصيل للحضارات الأولى. لقد تحدثت ســـــموّك غالبًا عن دور الشارقة في صون الثّقافة بوصفها أمانة ومســـــؤوليّة. كيـــــف يتناغم هذا الاعتـــــراف العالمي مع رحلتك الطّويلة في خدمة التّراث ونشر المعرفة؟ يتردّد صدى هذا الاعتراف عميقًا مع الرّؤية الثقافيّة والفكريّة لصاحب الســـــمو الشـــــيخ الدكتور ســـــلطان بن محمد القاســـــمي، عضو المجلس الأعلى، حاكم الشارقة. فإيمانه الرّاســـــخ بأن الثّقافة والمعرفة تشكّان أســـــاس مجتمع مزدهر ومســـــتنيرٍ، كان الخارطة الفكريّـــــة التي وجّهت مسار عملي طوال حياتي. وخال رحلتي كلّها، سعيت إلى ترسيخ القناعة نفسها: أن صون التّراث، والسّـــــعي إلى المعرفة، مساران متازمان. فهما لا ينحصران في دراسة الماضي، بل يمسّان طرق التّفكير والقيم التي تُشكّل مستقبلنا. ويُجسّد المشهد الثقافي القديم في الفاية هذه الحقيقة بوضوح؛ فهو يذكّرنا بأن التّراث هو نقطة التقاء العلم بالثّقافة، وأن كل اكتشـــــاف يعمّق فهمنا لما يربطنا بعضنا ببعض كبشر. ويؤكّد هذا الإنجاز صّحة الطّريق الذي سلكناه في الشارقة لبناء التقدّم على قوّة هويّتنا الثقافيّة. فكل اكتشافٍ، وكل قصّة نحفظها، تذكّرنا بأن مســـــتقبلنا يعتمد على مقدار تقديرنا لأصولنا. ولقد ســـــاق هذا الاعتقاد رحلتي الشـــــخصيّة والمهنيّة على حد ســـــواء. وإذا سألتني عن أعمق ما تُؤكّده الفاية، فسأقول إن أعظم ثروة تملكها أمّة هي حقيقة هويّتها. يقدّم المشـــــهد الثقافي القديم في الفايـــــة رؤًى حول بعض من أقدم المســـــتوطنات البشريّة. فما السرديّات الاســـــتثنائيّة التي يرويها عن تاريخ البشريّة المشترك؟ علـــــى خاف مناطق أخرى تَشـــــكّل فيها الوجود البشـــــري بفعل مناخات مواتية، تُظهر لنا المجتمعات التي عاشـــــت في الفاية قدرة مذهلة على
path to the future begins by honouring our origins. Here, where our earli- est ancestors survived arid climates over 210,000 years ago, we find a last- ing lesson in human resilience and ingenuity. For the UAE, this recognition strengthens the roots of our national iden- tity and vision. Our modern identity, dynamic and inclusive, is rooted in a dignity that links progress with memory. The true wealth of our nation lies in the continuity between past and present, in the shared story that continues to shape our vision. For the region, Faya stands as a pillar of collective history and scientific pride, providing evidence that re-anchors the Arabian Peninsula as a cra- dle of human ingenuity and a true homeland of early civilisation. You have often spoken about Sharjah’s role as a custodian of culture. How does this recognition resonate with your own lifelong journey in promoting heritage and knowledge? This recognition resonates deeply with the cultural and intellectual vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. His lifelong belief that culture and knowledge form the foundation of a prosperous and enlightened society has been the defining blueprint of my own life’s work. Throughout my life I have sought to uphold that same vision that the pres- ervation of heritage and the pursuit of knowledge are inseparable. They are not simply about studying the past but about shaping the mindsets and values that determine our future. The Faya Palaeolandscape embodies this truth. It reminds us that heritage is where science and culture meet, and that each discovery deepens our understanding of what connects us as human beings. This moment affirms the path we have taken in Sharjah to build progress on the strength of our cultural identity. Every discovery and every pre- served story remind us that our future depends on how we value our or- igins. This belief has guided my personal and professional journey. And if you ask me what Faya confirms most profoundly, it is that the greatest wealth a nation can possess is the truth of its own identity.

تولّت ســـــمو الشيخة بدور بنت سلطان القاسمي، رئيســـــة هيئة الشارقة لاستثمار والتّطوير (شـــــروق)، بصفتها صاحبة رؤية واضحـــــة ومدافعة عن الصّناعـــــات الثقافيّة وصون التّراث، قيادة جهود تســـــجيل المشـــــهد الثقافي لعصور ما قبل التّاريخ في الفاية بنجاح ضمن قائمة التّراث العالمي لليونسكو، في خطوة تُعد محطّة مفصليّة تُرسّخ مكانة الشارقة كمركز دولي للمعرفة والثّقافة. وبصفتها ســـــفيرة لملف ترشـــــيح المشـــــهد الثقافي لعصور ما قبل التّاريخ فـــــي الفاية، تُمثّل ســـــموّها الشـــــارقة ودولة الإمارات العربيّة المتحدّة أمام اليونسكو والهيئات الدوليّة الأخرى، كمـــــا تعمل على تعزيـــــز التّعاون بين الجهات المحليّة والاتحاديّـــــة لضمان حماية الموقع على المدى الطّويل وتنميته المستدامة. وفـــــي هذه المقابلة الحصريّة مع مجلّة شـــــواطئ، تتأمّل ســـــمو الشـــــيخة بدور بنت ســـــلطان القاســـــمي في دلالات هذا الاعتراف التاريخي - بالنسبة للشـــــارقة، ولدولة الإمارات، ولجهود صون أقدم قصص الإنســـــانيّة - وتُشـــــارك رؤيتها لمشهد الفاية الثقافي القديم بوصفه متحفًا حيًّا للصّمود والإرادة البشريّة. كيف تقرأ ســـــموّك الأبعاد الثقافيّة والعلميّة والحضاريّة لإدراج المشـــــهد الثقافي لعصور ما قبل التّاريخ في الفاية على قائمة التّراث العالمي لليونســـــكو، بالنّسبة للشارقة، ودولة الإمارات، وللعالم العربي بشكل عام؟ إن إدراج المشـــــهد الثقافـــــي لعصور ما قبـــــل التّاريخ في الفاية في القائمة هـــــو هديّة عميقة لأجيالنا القادمة؛ فهو يرسّخ طموحاتهم على أسس متانتنا التاريخيّة الرّاسخة. لقد أصبحت الفاية الآن كنزًا إنسانيًّا مشتركًا، يؤكّد فصا شاما في حكايتنا الجماعيّة. أمّا بالنّسبة للشارقة، فالفاية أرشـــــيف حيّ، ومكتبة كُتبت فصولها في طبقات صحرائنا. إنّها تُجسّد قناعتنا الرّاســـــخة بأن الطّريق إلى المستقبل يبدأ بتكريم جذورنا. فعلى هذه الأرض، آلاف عام، نجد 210 حيـــــث صمد أســـــافنا الأوائل في مواجهة مناخات قاحلة منذ أكثـــــر من درسًا خالدًا في قدرة الإنسان على الصّمود والابتكار. وأمّا بالنسبة لدولة الإمارات، فهذا الاعتراف يُعزّز جذور هويّتنا الوطنيّة ورؤيتنا المستقبليّة. فهويّتنـــــا الحديثة، بغناهـــــا وتنوّعها وانفتاحها، متجـــــذّرة في كرامة تربط التقـــــدّم بالذّاكرة.
A visionary leader and steadfast advocate for cultur- al industries and heritage preservation, Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority [Shurooq], spearheaded the successful UNESCO inscrip- tion of the Faya Palaeolandscape as a World Heritage Site - a milestone that cements Sharjah’s position as a global centre of knowledge and culture.
