مرشّـــــــح، أو على صعيد النطاق الجغرافيّ، 21 مشاركة توزّعت على 74 إذ استقطبت دولة أجنبيّة، بمشـــــــاركة 53 دولة عربيّة، و تشـــــــيلي، وأيسلندا، ولوكســـــــمبورغ، لأوّل مرّة. كما انعكست نسب النمو ضمن فروع الجائزة، التي شـــــــهدت بدورها ارتفاعًا في الترشّـــــــح إليها، فعلى سبيل المثال، بعد أن كان العشرات يترشّحون إلى فرع الآداب، مشاركًا.” 1117 ترشّح إليه لهذه الدّورة وعن التأثيـــــــرات الاجتماعيّة للجائزة، قال سعادته: “سجّلت الترشيحات لهذه الدورة، زيـــــــادة في عـــــــدد الكاتبات المرشّـــــــحات، عن الدورة السابقة، ما يعكس 12٪ بنسبة الدّعم والتّحفيـــــــز اللذين تقدّمهما الجائزة للأديبـــــــات والمؤلِّفات، إذ تســـــــلّط الضوء على إبداعهنّ، وتعـــــــزّز من حضورهن في المشـــــــهد الثقافي والمجتمعيّ. وفي ذات السياق، ســـــــجّلت الترشيحات زيادة لافتة في مشـــــــاركة المؤسّسات الثقافيّة، بنسبة عن الدورة السابقة، ولوحظت زيادة 80٪ في الترشـــــــيحات الواردة من غير العربيّة، عن 16% مقابل الـــــــدول العربيّة، بنســـــــبة الدورة الســـــــابقة. بينما حافظت جمهوريّة

بجائزة الشيخ زايد للكتاب، والذي يُقاس بلغتين: لغة الأرقام، ولغة الثناء والتّقدير.” وبالنســـــــبة للغة التّقدير، يُشـــــــير ســـــــعادة الدكتور علـــــــي بن تميم إلـــــــى أن الجائزة حظيت بعدد كبير من التّغطيات الإعلاميّة والمقالات التي عكست الثّناء والإعجاب بالـــــــدّور النهضـــــــوي الذي يقـــــــوده المركز لتكريس ريـــــــادة وتميّز الجائزة، فضلا عن الجوائز والتكريمات التي نالتها، وأحدثها التكريـــــــم الـــــــذي ناله مركـــــــز أبوظبي للّغة العربيّة، خـــــــلال “منتدى الجوائز العربيّة”، الذي اســـــــتضافته “جائزة محمد بن راشد آل مكتـــــــوم للمعرفة” التابعة لمؤسَّســـــــة محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للمعرفة، تقديرًا لجهوده الثقافيّة الرائدة، ودوره في تنظيم ورعاية جائزة الشيخ زايد للكتاب، بوصفها إحدى أبرز الجوائز الأدبيّة والثقافيّة على المستويين العربي والدوليّ. وقال سعادته: “تروي لغة الأرقام حكاية الاهتمـــــــام العالمي بالجائزة التي شـــــــهدت فـــــــي أعوامها الماضية نموًّا لافتًا، ســـــــواء في إقبال المرشّحين الذي تجاوز عددهم 4000 الاستثنائيّة أكثر من 20 في الدورة

He added: “Over the course of its journey, the Sheikh Zayed Book Award has succeeded - as one of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes in both value and stand- ing - in securing a leading position among cultural awards in the Arab World. This distinction is rooted in its credibility, transparency, and unwavering commitment to rigorous, scholarly, and objective criteria. It also re- flects the award’s ongoing efforts to build bridges of cul- tural exchange, in line with the UAE leadership’s vision of encouraging creativity, empowering youth, honour- ing pioneers, supporting culture, and fostering dialogue among civilisations.” He continued: “As the award approaches its twentieth year in the upcoming cycle, it is preparing to launch a se- ries of global initiatives and events commensurate with its success and distinguished record. Its pioneering role in connecting Arab culture with the world has earned it a prominent international standing, reinforced by a clear vision and a rigorous, academically grounded method- ology. The reading, screening, and judging committees - composed of leading cultural and academic figures - up- hold the highest standards of competence and integrity, resulting in major achievements that reflect the Centre’s efforts to support the Arabic language and elevate Arabic literature and heritage on a global scale. These accom- plishments are evident in the international attention the Sheikh Zayed Book Award commands - measured in

two languages: the language of numbers, and the lan- guage of praise and recognition.” Turning to the language of recognition, His Excellency Dr Ali bin Tamim noted that the award has been the sub- ject of extensive media coverage and numerous articles expressing admiration for the Centre’s pioneering role in strengthening the award’s leadership and distinc- tion. He also highlighted the prizes and honours the Centre has received, most recently at the Arab Awards Forum, hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Mak- toum Knowledge Award of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation. This recognition celebrated the Centre’s cultural achievements and its role in organising and supporting the Sheikh Zayed Book Award as one of the most prominent literary and cultur- al awards at both the Arab and international levels. He added: “The language of numbers tells a compelling story of the award’s global reach, which has grown sig- nificantly in recent years. Interest among candidates has surged, with the exceptional 20 th cycle receiving more than 4,000 submissions. The award’s geograph- ic footprint has also expanded, with 74 entries rep- resenting 21 Arab countries and 53 foreign countries - including, for the first time, submissions from Chile, Iceland, and Luxembourg. Growth was evident across all categories, each of which recorded and increase in applicants. For example, while the Literature category
