وكما في كل عامٍ، تبقى المشـــــاركة في هـــــذه الجوائز مجانيّة بالكامل، تعزيزا لروحهـــــا العالميّة وانفتاحهـــــا على المصوّرين من مختلف الدّول والخلفيّـــــات. ولا يقتصر هذا الانفتاح على بُعده الرمزي فحسب، بل يحمل بعدًا استراتيجيًّا أيضًا؛ فكثيرًا ما تنشأ القصص الأجدر بالسّـــــرد في بيئات لا تتوفّر لأصحابها الوسائل الكافية لإيصالها إلى العالم. في السّـــــنوات الأخيرة، حصد عدد مـــــن المصوّرين في منطقة الخليـــــج تقديرًا لافتًا عبر هـــــذه الجوائز، مقدّميـــــن رؤًى قويّة تســـــتمد عمقها من الإرث والثّقافة وخصائص الحياة في هذه ، نال المصوّر السّعودي ياسر 2024 البقعة من العالم. وفي عام العمـــــري “الجائزة الوطنيّـــــة” عن صورة أخّـــــاذة تحمل عنوان ، تُظهر قمرًا مكتمل الطّـــــور يتوّج بدقّة Untitled “أنتايتلـــــد” متناهية قمّة برج صندوق الاســـــتثمارات العامّة في الرّياض. وتُجسّـــــد الصّورة حوار الطّبيعة والعمران في توازن متناسق وتناظر بصري بديع، في رســـــالة تدعو الإنسان إلى تأمّل ذلك الحوار أينما وُجد. وفي السّياق ذاته، نال عبداللّـه المشيفري جائزة قطر الوطنيّة Heading Down عـــــن صـــــورة “هيدينـــــغ داون” 2024 لعام التي توثّق لحظة آسرة من ســـــباق الخيل في عُمان. ففي هذا المشـــــهد، ينحني فارســـــان متقابلان ليمـــــد كل منهما يده نحو الآخر في لحظة تلاق خاطفة، بينمـــــا تنطلق الخيول في عدو صاخب يملأ السّـــــاحة حيويّة وحركة. وقـــــد التقطت الصّورة حركة الأجســـــاد والخيول بدقّة لافتة، فيما تبدو الجموع في الخلفيّة كظـــــلال ضبابيّة تُتيـــــح للبطلين أن يحتلا المســـــاحة

The Open Photogra- pher of the Year is awarded USD 5,000, while all category winners across Professional, Open, Student and Youth receive Sony gear, international exhibition inclusion, and coverage across the World Photography Organisa- tion’s platforms. As always, the Awards are free to enter, and they remain international in spirit: open to photographers in every country and of every background. This democratisation of access is not just symbolic; it is strategic because often the stories that deserve be told do not always come from those who can afford to tell them. In recent years, several photographers from the Gulf have earned recognition through the Awards, offering powerful perspectives informed by heritage and the complexity of life in this region. In 2024, Saudi Arabian photographer Yasser Alomari was awarded the Nation- al Award for a mesmerising image titled Untitled , which captures a supermoon perfectly poised atop the spire of the Saudi Public Investment Fund [PIF] Tower in Riyadh. The image places nature and architecture in harmony and symmetry, a message that all humanity could ben- efit from hearing. Abdulla Al Mushaifri’s winning image for the 2024 Qatar National Award, titled Heading Down , captures a striking moment from a traditional horse race in Oman.
