Based in Aberdeen, Kaseum Technology is a specialist design and manufacturing company that produces well intervention tools for the global energy industry. Kaseum has been presented with the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its innovative K-Set technology. The electro-mechanical downhole power delivery system can deliver up to 150,000 lbs of linear force to set plugs and packers in oil wells without the need for explosive or dangerous components. The tool is powered by a Power & Communication Module (PCM), a unique, patented and disposable combined electronics and alkaline battery package. Ahead of its time in 2008, but of the moment in 2022, the sustainable BCorp, Little Soap Company, was created by Emma Heathcote-James when she questioned why supermarkets
didn’t offer any choice of natural or organic soaps.

were trialled in nine Waitrose stores in 2010, before going national into all major retailers, revolutionising the category – making pure natural soap now the norm, not the niche. After discovering bathrooms generate 63.7% of the home’s annual plastic waste, and liquid bathroom products feature on average 80% water, Eco Warrior launched in 2019. These award-winning products formulate traditionally bottled liquids into bar form. Soap is no longer soap, with job specific bars for hands, face, body, shave and shampoo creating plastic-free swaps for everyday bathroom products that are as good as, if not better, than their usual liquid counterparts.
As well as removing many of the stumbling blocks to international export, the K-Set brings substantial time, cost and ESG savings. As of March 2022, Kaseum had sold more than 450 K-Set tools and over 5,000 PCMs worldwide.
