Glencraft (Aberdeen) Ltd is a registered charity and a trading Social Enterprise. Established in 1843, the company manufactures a range of classic and luxury mattresses, all hand-finished and made to order, in addition to a range of desirable divans and headboards. Its luxury range of mattresses is made with sustainable, natural materials. Only the finest materials are used, such as horsehair, mohair, cashmere and alpaca as well as wool. The company works with some of the finest hotels in the UK and beyond and can offer trade pricing for volume orders. Its products are also sold across Asia through a distribution partnership. It has a branded store in Hong Kong and a mall presence in Singapore. Glencraft is one of only two companies in the sector to hold a Royal Warrant to HM Queen Elizabeth, having served four generations of the Royal Family at Balmoral. Its social impact is to provide ‘Dignity Through Work’ by providing employment to individuals who are visually impaired or suffer some other health disadvantage and may otherwise struggle to find meaningful job roles. The company’s vision is to provide a stable and financially independent workplace for as many disadvantaged people as possible and to provide

them with a real purpose. Luxury textile manufacturers Johnstons of Elgin have worked with the world’s most beautiful natural, renewable, biodegradable fibres since 1797, creating the highest quality cashmere and woollen clothing, knitwear, accessories and home interiors designs. The brand continually strives to reduce its environmental footprint – an effort recognised by its recent Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category. minimise waste, while the brand as a whole is on a pathway to carbon neutrality. Its skilled craftspeople handle fibres gently and only use dyes and chemicals on the approved list of the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) programme. Johnstons of Elgin now exports to 65 countries and employs 900 people at its Elgin and Hawick mills. Its exquisite, timeless designs are investment pieces intended to last for many years.
