David and Wendy Maisey with the company’s four Queen’s Awards for Enterprise
ICC Solutions Limited is a global leader in Chip & PIN payment testing and certification technology. The company’s innovative test tools enable the highly efficient Chip & PIN certifications associated with global payment brands like MasterCard and Visa to be used worldwide by major banks, merchants and technology providers. An independent company owned by founding Directors David and Wendy Maisey, ICC Solutions’ headquarters and centre of excellence is based in Cheshire. So what does the Queen’s Award mean for ICC? Well, it showcases the company as one of the UK’s best, clearly demonstrating that British firms are capable of achieving significant success through innovation and international trade. Moreover, it’s a significant recognition of the quality of the company, a marker that’s instilled great confidence in its capability to serve the global marketplace and further motivate its team. Furthermore, the detailed process of entering facilitates a comprehensive and structured review of the company, highlighting successes whilst developing strategies to help address future growth opportunities. This, the company asserts, instills greater confidence and reassurance that the organisation as a whole is performing well. Finally, the Awards are seen as a wonderful mechanism to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and international trade, all of which the company considers vital to help boost the British economy. When ICC Solutions won its fourth Queen’s Award for Enterprise, in the Innovation category, David stated: “For over twenty years, our company has embraced innovation combined with a clear vision, commitment and expertise to deliver powerful test tools for the global payments industry. Since 2012
- when we won two Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in the International Trade and Innovation categories - our export sales have exponentially increased as we continue to take our innovative technology to a highly competitive sector and deliver significant market share. This Award reflects that ICC Solutions remains fully committed to delivering excellence to our international clients. We have a firm objective to help enhance British exporting.” Wendy added: “It’s confirmation of our vision as Directors to be best in class at what we do, and also a great reflection on our team who work tirelessly to ensure we remain competitive, provide excellent customer service and are world class when it comes to innovation in our industry. Our fourth Queen’s Award inspired and motivated us to achieve even greater corporate objectives”. ICC Solutions is a very forward-looking company. As an Approved Activity Provider for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, it is successfully delivering online education directly to young people as an module within the ever-popular scheme’s Skills section. ‘It
is hoped that, by helping young people learn the skills and appreciate the opportunities presented by international trade, ‘Awesome Exporting’ will lead them to become successful exporters of the future, thereby ensuring Britain continues to thrive as a powerful global trading nation. A Commonwealth educational module will also be made available soon. This is pertinent as David recently became Chair of the Cheshire Commonwealth Association, an organisation which aims to connect businesses in Cheshire and beyond by encouraging, informing and inspiring them to embrace the opportunities afforded by trading within the Commonwealth of Nations. David and Wendy Maisey were both appointed OBE’s in the 2020 New Year Honours List, for services to international trade and the economy.
