The Queen's Awards Magazine 2022

PAST WINNER INTERVIEW

Cambridge Healthcare Research Ltd

What planning did you do beforehand?

What made Cambridge Healthcare Research Ltd apply for a Queen’s Award? Having accomplished so much in such a short space of time, we wanted to celebrate the work of our team and ensure that CHR is recognised as a leader in our field. We felt that the Queen’s Award would be the perfect way to showcase the strength of our team and the quality of our services to our existing clients but also a fantastic way to promote future growth and new relationships. We also wanted our team to be recognised for their dedication and hard work. We felt that the award would not just be for the company but for everyone at CHR; to recognise their talent and their constant ability to be the best at what we do. What research did you do about the awards/ application process? It was a case of researching other companies who had won the award and in similar industries. The questions were carefully reviewed by each Founding Partner and members of the management team to ensure all information was captured and reviewed.

It was a deep dive into the background of the company as well as a forward look into the future successes of the business and its team. Each element of the application process was not just ensuring we provided an in-depth and complete answer but reinforcing what we were about as a business and the future growth and plans that lay ahead.

How did you find the application process?

AWARD CATEGORY: Enterprise for International Trade SIZE OF COMPANY: 100-120 WHERE BASED: Cambridge & London TYPE OF BUSINESS: Life Sciences and Healthcare Sector PROFILE: Matteo Perucchini JOB TITLE: CEO

It certainly came with its challenges! But overall, we made sure that everything was checked and agreed upon prior to uploading it to the online portal so we felt confident we had captured everything we wanted to deliver and could do that in one sitting. Did you learn anything about your own company during the process? The process forced us to step back, look at our journey and reflect on our success. We have always known that CHR is full of amazing, talented and dedicated individuals, but the process allowed us to come together and acknowledge the fact that our success is truly the sum of our parts.
