How did you find the application process?
What made Anacarda apply for a Queen’s Award? We believe that the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise is the most prestigious awards for UK businesses. What research did you do about the awards/ application process? Being the recipient of a Queen’s Award with another business ensured the process was already known.
The application process is straightforward.
Did you learn anything about your own com- pany during the process? The writing of the application made us stop and think about the product from numerous angles, and highlighted some of the achievements we’ve made yet hadn’t fully considered.

What planning did you do beforehand?
Yes, the application called on a multi-disciplined approach to generate and collate data.
In the main, our planning consisted of pulling through what is largely technical material and making sure there was clarity in providing sufficient technical information balanced with practical explanation of our innovations.
Company Background
Anacarda specialises in the manufacture of biopolymers derived from cashew nutshell liquid. The company’s products are used with epoxy resins in the formulation of coating systems for a variety of global industries including marine, transport, civil engineering, construction, and coatings.
