Dear Friends, As we progress toward the end of this calendar year, you're invited to seize this season, learn, and pursue engaging new fine arts opportunities uniquely offered by the City of Irvine. There is still time to view the 40th annual All Media exhibition showcasing artwork juried by Katie Hector, Patrick Geske, and Paul Loya. See All Media award-winning artworks on page 7 and view them in person through September 28. Mark your calendar for fall opening reception dates August 15, September 29, and November 16 for exhibitions at Irvine City Hall, Great Park Gallery, and the Irvine Fine Arts Center. Learn more about the fine arts exhibition programming and the upcoming shows at cityofirvine.org/irvine-fine-arts-center/ exhibitions . The budding young artist or nearing teenager in your circle may be interested in exploring new classes on art history, immersing themselves in learning about an artist’s body of work, or a structured course in art foundations. See page 11 for more details and ages. Adult patrons—are you ready to dive into darkroom photography? Learn more by signing up for Beginning Darkroom Photography . Grab a 35mm SLR film camera, an unexposed roll of 35mm black and white film, and get ready for the first day of class. See page 13 for course details. The photo lab at the Irvine Fine Arts Center is equipped with a film processing finishing room, film dryer, print washer, RC print dryer, and dry mount press.
