President’s Message / About IUJ

Let's gather in "a place where the world cooperates" and acquire "human power." The International University of Japan is a graduate university that welcomes approximately 210 new students each academic year. Although this is a relatively small number when compared to other universities, students from over 60 countries and regions from all over the world are present on our campus. Our university provides a “global space” within Japan, meaning that “Students can learn about the world and learn about Japan” while enrolled at IUJ. In general, students live in dormitories on campus and English is used as the only language of instruction, enabling students to receive an in-depth graduate education in international relations and international management at a global standard. IUJ is also “Where the World Cooperates.” Students enrolled at IUJ have been through the experience of studying and living together 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at our Urasa campus in Minamiuonuma, Niigata Prefecture. Due to the nature of this contact, a dense and diverse network has surely been formed amongst those who graduate from our university. This is the true meaning of IUJ as a place “Where the world cooperates.” The world has changed dramatically since the recent COVID-19 pandemic, and with the development of information and communication technology, more and more things can be done automatically without having to think for oneself, and even decision-making is about to begin in an era where artificial intelligence will take over. On the other hand, people seem to be deprived of opportunities to grow and challenge themselves. Let us break through this "blockage" and acquire the "human ability" to open the way to the future by gathering at the International University of Japan, a "place where the world cooperates.”
