King's Business - 1952-03

Blessing From Biola Broadcast H OW God is using the Bible Institute Hour, 8:30 a.m., Mutual network, Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week, to broadcast His Word, and to ac quaint the public with the opportunities for training offered by the school, is illus trated by the following letter received recently. Mr. Kelman, a partner with his father in the Kelman Electric and Manufacturing Company of Los An geles, listens to the Bible Institute program as he commutes to his work from Fillmore. The Institute appreciates greatly Mr. and Mrs. Kelman’s kind appraisal of the radio ministry, as well as the visit from our field representa tive, Mr. Jack Finley. The Bible Institute of Los Angeles 558 South Hope Street Los Angeles 17, California Gentlemen: I have become one of your regular listeners. Each Wednesday while driving to work at my father’ s factory in Los Angeles I listen to your 8:30 a.m. pro gram. I turn first to the business news on another station. This is put on by a securities house, and gives the general business picture at that time. This is frequently not so good. You begin to understand why when you invest in what you presume to be a thriving business, you find yourself backing another losing proposition. Then you turn to the 8:30 BIOLA program, and what a change! You know by now that there is no chance of that being a losing proposition. You begin to have an appreciation of the difference of mere monetary values which fluctuate from day to day, as compared with spiritual values which are eternal. You people of the Bible Institute are gaining a knowledge of Christ, which dispersed through your missionary graduates and over the airways, is saving souls and enriching the spiritual life of the world. It is good that you share it with those who listen. My wife and I also wish to express appreciation for the personal visit of one of your representatives to our home. Such visits lead to a better understand ing for the problems of your work, for a better appreciation for your successes and needs. May God grant that your work in creases on an ever-expanding scale, for surely it is accomplishing God’s ends. Yours truly, Mr. and Mrs. Newton H. Kelman
