Why did you volunteer to be a Wellbeing Officer?
people feel comfortable opening up and talking about issues that are affecting them. This can be very detrimental, as people can suffer in silence rather than reach out and seek support. I therefore encourage people to have open conversations about mental health and encourage people to take steps to look after their own wellbeing. What do you do to look after your wellbeing? I am mindful of the importance of my own mental health, and seek to manage my stress levels though a combination of a combination of mediation, exercise (mainly running) and “switching off” from work, and I recommend these methods to everyone! However, each individual will have their own methods of seeking to unwind and relax and it is important that everyone finds and uses techniques that work for them.
I volunteered to become a Wellbeing Officer as I have a strong interest in people’s health and wellbeing. I would like to be someone people can potentially speak to if they are facing issues and would like to receive support. Why should we look after our physical and mental wellbeing? We should look after our physical and mental wellbeing as it is key to both our overall happiness and how we interact with others. When we are physically and mentally well, we are more capable of handling challenges and are less likely to feel overwhelmed. How do you promote positive mental health practices?
