HISCOMING DRAWETH NIGH!

(Continued from Page 15) the Roman army. When a Roman camp was about to be broken up—a trumpet sounded. The first blast meant, ‘ Strike tents and prepare to depart.’ The second meant, ‘Pall into line,’ and when what was called the last trump sounded, it meant ‘March away’.” Perhaps it should be added that not one of Christ’s people will be left be hind when He comes. The theory that only the watching will be caught up is without scriptural foundation. In First Thessalonians 5:10, Paul declares quite clearly “ that, whether we wake [not watch ] or sleep, we should live to gether with him.” When the Lord comes for His church, His people will be transformed into His likeness. Even their physical bodies will be fashioned like His body of glory (Phil. 3:21) and when they see Him, they will be like Him (1 John 3:2). Sin, sorrow and suffering will be forever ended and His presence will spell eternal bliss and joy. When He comes, it will also be to re ward His people for their fidelity to Him (1 Cor. 3:14; 2 Cor. 5:10; 2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Peter 5:4) and to manifest them with Himself in glory (Col. 3-4). His love for the church was so great that He gave His life for it and His ultimate purpose is that sanctified, cleansed, unblemished the church shall be His eternal partner (Eph. 3:25-27). If His people yearn for His coming, He also yearns for that day when the church of His love shall be come His bride (Rev. 19:7, 8). Any moment now may see His return. If His coming is so very imminent, His people should be waiting expectantly, ready to meet Him when He comes. Sin should be judged, wrongs should be rectified, reconciliations effected. More over, if His coming is near, our hearts should be stirred in compassion to the needy around, whose opportunity to be saved will be gone forever when He returns.
