PRACTICAL WAYS TO INTEGRATE AND INSPIRE INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP Esade dean Joan Rodón Mòdol offers the following advice for those seeking to tackle the topic of inclusive leadership at their business school. “Begin by fostering a culture of education and awareness within your institution.
“I then recommend integrating topics such as diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural competency, throughout various courses and programmes, as well as encouraging and supporting student-led initiatives focused on promoting inclusive leadership within the campus community. “In addition, establish safe spaces within your institution where students, faculty and staff can engage in open and honest dialogue about issues
related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Lastly, forge partnerships with external organisations, businesses and community groups that specialise in diversity and inclusion. In particular, two of the course’s 10 sessions focus on these issues and we ensure that there is ample time for these ‘difficult conversations’ to take place with some of our younger undergraduate students.” What are the most important attributes needed by an inclusive leader in today’s society? “In today’s society, inclusive leadership demands a diverse array of attributes to navigate complex and dynamic environments effectively.
