Contemporary Dance Wyoming in "Up Close"

CHARLOTTE LANDREAU CDW Member

Charlotte Landreau, a native of France, is an ex-pre- Olympic rhythmic gymnast. After a 10-year long successful career where she finished 3rd in France, Charlotte decided to switch careers and applied to the Maurice Bejart School in Switzerland. After studying ballet, music, singing, acting and modern dance for two years, Charlotte auditioned for the Martha Graham School and moved to New York. After six months at the famous school, she was honored with the Excellence in Performance Award while dancing for the pre-professional company. Charlotte was then hired by the Martha Graham Dance Company and performed all over the world for almost a decade, receiving many promotions until she became Principal dancer. Charlotte became a master teacher in the Graham technique, and is a guest teacher in Switzerland, France, and America. She now teaches modern dance at the Dancer’s Workshop in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and performs as a guest artist in galas. FRANCESCA ROMO CDW Associate Artistic Director and Dancer Francesca Romo was born in London and knew she wanted to dance early in life. After graduating from the Royal Ballet School and London Contemporary Dance School, she danced for The Richard Alston Dance Company 2003-2006. While on tour, she fell in love with the U.S., and moved to New York to Co-found the Gallim Dance Company in 2006. She has toured and created work both internationally and nationally, and now resides at Dancers’ Workshop in Jackson Hole as the Associate Artistic Director for CDW, where she dances, teaches, mentors, and is an integral part of wellness programming teaching Gyrotonic and Craniosacral work with both adults and infants. A recipient of the Wyoming Arts Council Grant for 2023, Fran is delighted and grateful for this opportunity from DW and the WAC to create this work in process.
