Contemporary Dance Wyoming in "Up Close"

CDW GUEST DANCERS

GEORGIE ARMSTRONG CDW Guest Dancer

Georgie Armstrong, although new to the world of dance and performing but not to the passion of moving her body, had an early introduction to dancing from her mom and sisters in the kitchen while they made dinner. Dance classes came much later, but the joy of dancing was always there. She recently spent a beautiful five weeks in India immersed in contemporary technique and research, expanding greatly in heartfelt creativity and movement. Through this immersion she realized collective, improvisational movement is her preferred way of connecting with others. She now holds space to offer this opportunity of moving in creativity and joy together to the community of Jackson. This year’s UP CLOSE showcase will be her first time performing with CDW, and her second time performing ever, and she is grateful for the opportunity to learn from their incredible artistry.

LAUREN ARNDT CDW Guest Dancer

Lauren Arndt is a dancer, landscape designer and overall movement enthusiast originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She spent most of her childhood in a dance studio, where she fell in love with modern dance. Her curiosity for body and space continued into adulthood when she discovered the world of environmental design. She received her Masters of Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities, where she focused her studies on the choreography and design of public space and the work of Lawrence and Anna Halprin. Lauren currently works as a Landscape Designer at HDLA, and teaches and dances at Dancer’s Workshop.
