CHRISTOPHER GHERMAN Musician/Composer
Christopher Gherman is a multidisciplinary artist in the space of healing, ecology and spirituality. As a musician, Christopher began his journey as a trumpeter in the Black American Music (jazz) tradition. He went on to earn his B.A. in Music Composition. Life took a different turn at this time and Chris began focusing on community work and has since worked for non-profits with that aim. The music Chris creates now can be meditative, reflective, and experimental, having veered from the jazz tradition into genres such as ambient, shoegaze, post-rock, indie, folk, and field recording. He has created music in tandem with his long time collaborator and dear friend, Ryan Ptasnik, for several years. Sharing a ground of common inspiration, introspection, and aesthetics, Chris and Ryan formed the music project hawktower (so named after the American Poet Robinson Jeffers hand built creative sanctuary).
