The Business School of the Catholic University of Uruguay (UCU Business School) may be in its infancy, but its offerings draw on a long tradition of postgraduate and executive education. Tim Banerjee Dhoul presents an overview

HISTORY UCU was established in 1985, although its roots can be traced back to the late 19th century and the foundation of the Lyceum of University Studies. Today, the university consists of five faculties and two additional postgraduate schools, of which UCU Business School is one. Launched in 2018, the business school brought postgraduate management education at the university under one roof, drawing on the experience and expertise of UCU’s Faculty of Business Sciences and its executive training provider Isede, as well as an alliance with the Christian Association of Business Leaders.

In this modular programme known as the 3x3 MBA, participants study for three full days every three weeks, in addition to undertaking three intensive weeks. The school also offers a range of master’s and executive education programmes, including a master’s in management degree and specialised master’s qualifications in marketing and finance.
