THE RIGHT CONNECTIONS

Inspired by how Indian school executives are becoming increasingly internationally focused, AMBA & BGA CEO Andrew Main Wilson encourages delegates to follow their lead and take advantage of the networking opportunities at this year’s Global Deans and Directors Conference

I

have just returned from India where, for the second consecutive year, we hosted a series of AMBA & BGA capacity- building workshops. This was followed by an extensive series of business school

and Directors Conference will be held in May in Hungary’s beautiful capital city, Budapest. Business school delegates from more than 50 countries will be attending from Sunday, 12 May to Wednesday, 15 May – if you have not yet booked, there is still time to register on our website at www.associationofmbas.com/school-events/amba- bga-global-conference-2024/. We have created a diverse and stimulating programme of presentations, discussions and networking opportunities. Presentation topics include the evolution of MBA programmes and pedagogy methods; how to optimise AI in both teaching and learning; maximising social impact; transforming MBA education through technology; building cost-effective lifelong learning programmes for alumni; and how to operate a quality international business school during a period of increasing global geopolitical uncertainty. We are proud to welcome delegates and speakers from all six continents, reflecting the extent of the AMBA & BGA network of schools, which now spans in excess of 85 countries.

Recognising the importance of networking to you all, we have built plenty of breaks into the conference agenda and once again we have chosen two stylish and distinctive dinner venues. A taste of traditional Hungarian hospitality and culture is on offer at the Lazar Equestrian Park on Monday evening, while the spectacular and stylish surroundings of the Fine Arts Museum will play host on the Tuesday evening. Business schools frequently tell us that AMBA & BGA conferences are the best for networking and the most generous in terms of including two highly enjoyable dinners held in chic locations each time. If you are looking for fresh ideas in this increasingly challenging, uncertain world and also want to build strong new partnerships with complementary schools around the world, joining us in Budapest in May might prove to be the ideal opportunity.

visits to meet with the deans and directors of key Indian schools. I find Indian business schools have changed rapidly from being totally domestic market- focused to being intensely curious about how international accreditations can help them become more globally aware. This is an approach that combines the best of local market perspectives with the best of international learning standards and innovations. AMBA already enjoys a strong presence in India and now BGA is growing as fast in India as anywhere else in the world. Networking internationally is a key driver in becoming a more globally minded business school. As an increasing number of Indian school executives begin to travel abroad more frequently, it reminds me of the importance of our biggest event of the year. Our annual Global Deans
