It was startling to arrive at base camp with a borrowed trailer, an untried and new to me horse, and 5 days of 20 miles a day riding ahead of me. Oh, and did I mention I knew absolutely no one? What an adventure! My handsome steed, Patric, and I have now traversed 300 miles of 1300 on this yearly progressive ride following the path the Nes Pearce Indians took in 1877. It’s called the Chief Joesph Trail Ride and they have been taking Appaloosa Horses on it since 1964. We have 10 more years of adventure ahead of us and now we know more, know each other and I call those strangers I met, my friends. Now that we've begun 2022, what adventures do you have planned? What adventures would you like to do? What is stopping you from leaving this article right now to go and put something on your calendar? Even if it’s a slot for planning adventure? Before I took the step to buy a horse, borrow a trailer and travel six hours to start this 13-year adventure I was living life like most everyone. Then, I did two things: First I made a decision. Then I took action. Now that I’m involved in this adventure it’s much easier to continue. What is stopping you from doing that now.
