Addresses on the First Epistle to the Corinthians By H. A. IRONSIDE

Mr. Larkin is a "M aster Workman” in "Rightly Dividing the Word.” —Rev. I. M. Haldeman. " I t was some days ago that 1 first got hold of your Book "Dispensational Truth or God’s Plan and Purpose in the Ages.” Oh, it ju st thrilled my soul and I was struck with awe at the things the Lord has been pleased to reveal to you. I am so fascinated, how (by His wis dom) you put things together. During the few days that I've read it, I was very much blessed. It served me some what of a rebuke, too, because I never before thought the Bible was so full of rich treasures of God’s purposes as the book has unfolded to me. I thank Him that there was such a wonderful book.” —Mr. D. S. Mercado. Send for prospectus

Having as his object “to expound the Word as simply as possible for the edification and instruction of plain people who have neither the time nor the learning to follow heavy and erudite comments,” the pastor of the Moody Memorial Church, Chicago, presents in this volume a group of expository sermons which are full of practical value. There are thirty - nine chapters— all readable and illuminating. 564 pages. Western Book and T ract Co., Oak land, Calif., and Loizeaux Bros., New York. Cloth. Price $2.25. The Shepherd of All: The 23rd Psalm By GEORGE M. LAMSA From the pen of one who himself was once a shepherd in Palestine, this assembling of much background detail has a value for those who would draw spiritual lessons from the beloved Shepherd Psalm. Dr. Lamsa fills in the picture with a multitude of facts about customs among shep herds of the Holy Land. His emphasis upon the material rewards which come to shepherds who not only trust God but also show special generosity might seem slightly legalistic, but this teaching would seem to be guarded elsewhere by his reference to “Christ, who is the Shepherd of all, and who gave his live for us.” 86 pages. A. J. Holman Co. Leatherette. Price 50 cents. Cruden’s Concordance By ALEXANDER CRUDEN Cruden’s Concordance has held its place as an indispensable Bible reference help for more than a century and a half. The present large-type edition presents an old favorite in attractive new dress. An added feature of this edition is the new word translation and revision of the proper names of the Old and New Testaments, with their meanings in the original languages. There are also a large number of suggestive notes preceding many of the words. “Next to the purchase of a Bible,” D. L. Moody said, “I would advise you to get Cruden’s Concordance.” 618 pages. Revell Co. Cloth. Price $2.00. Life’s Greatest Adventure By PAUL RADER With the dynamic, the uniqueness, the per suasive power that characterized his platform work, Paul Rader again pleads for the souls of men,, in this posthumously published volume. Accounts of the writer’s own embarking upon the “greátest adventure” are commingled with calls to the unsaved to accept Christ, and to the believer to walk worthy of Christ. The book is beautifully printed and illustrated and is easy to read. 163 pages. Harriet Rader, 546 N. High land Ave., Hollywood, Calif. Cloth. Price $1.50. Christianity and War By J. A. BOORD Unlike much of the literature on war and peace that is current in ecclesiastical circles today, this book assumes the divine authority of the Bible, and attempts to make a thorough exegesis of all pas sages relevant to those'- subjects. The author is fair in his approach, aiid is plainly not making pacifism a substitute for the gospel. H e. does, exhaust every possible argument against war, and urges that all Christians should stand as firmly against militarism as they do against prostitution or slavery. The. book is written from the standpoint of a postmillenpialist. We feel, however, that as predicted by Jesus, “there shall be wars and ru mours of wars” until the end of the age. Yet- the existence of wars does not entail our approval;, and while only the personal appearing of Christ 1 can really end the carnage, we can, in. the mean time, take our stand emphatically on the side of peace, as many bodies of devout Christians have already done. We commend this book to our readers as the expression of a sincere attempt on the part of a thorough evangelical to state the proper attitude of the Christian toward war. 212 pages. Lutheran Literary Board, Burlington, Iowa. Cloth. Price $1,50. Let the Bible Help You Compiled by GEORGE PERRY DIXON Being all Scripture— and therefore all-power ful—the 1,500 helpful selections in this book are arranged under such headings as: “Be not Afraid,” “No Loneliness,” ; “Patience,” “Secur ity,” “Courage.” The verses are printed in full, in clear, v:readable type.' For bedside table or library shelf,, this book:will be found among those most worth while. 192 pages.' Harper & Bros.
