25th Camberwell Scouts and Dulwich Explorers, Sport and Wellbeing

Academic departments at Dulwich College are part of a variety of continuing educational partnership programmes.

Modern Foreign Languages Online provision of a range of teaching resources, including 100+ audio-visual aids to support the teaching of German. Through collaboration with the Jules Verne scheme, the Confucius Institute for Business London and the British Council, facilitation of a language teacher for St. Saviour’s and St. Olave’s School and Michael Faraday School, a Chinese teacher for two classes at Kingsdale Foundation School and a Mandarin club at Dulwich Wood Primary School and Arabic teaching for students at The Charter School and Dulwich College respectively. Originate and administer 1,000+ hours of Spanish language oral support for SSLP schools through the placing of PGCE graduates from the Universidad Católica de Valencia. Host of the Chinese Business Day for Year 10 pupils from Kingsdale, Christ’s College, Finchley and Dulwich College. Host of the annual LinguaFest ‘Science in a Modern Language’ for pupils from City Heights, JAGS and Dulwich College.

Sport Dulwich College administers, hosts and provides staff and senior pupils for annual sporting events and activities with the maintained sector including:

Mathematics A five-week series of classes for 15 Year 11 students from the Elmgreen School in Tulse Hill, focusing on improving the understanding of students currently at B grade level (spring and summer 2016). Science Lessons for gifted and talented students in Year 9, 10 and 11 at Bonus Pastor Catholic College, Lewisham. Collaboration with the Ogden Trust Scholarship Scheme to encourage boys to study Physics at Dulwich College in the Sixth Form – the most recent Scholar started his A levels in September 2016. Physics and Chemistry practicals and Biology trips to the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in support of start-up A levels at St. Thomas the Apostle College, Peckham. Provision of INSET training sessions for maintained sector Physics and non- specialist Physics teachers across London. Provision of teachers in support of the educational charity Physics Partners. Twice-termly Physics CPD events at Dulwich with the Institute of Physics. Host of the Lambeth and Southwark Medical Challenge Day (March 2017) for Year 10 and 11 girls and boys who have an interest in possible careers in Medicine (http://mcsprojectsltd.co.uk/?page_id=527). Provision of INSET training sessions for maintained sector linguists at ALL (Association for language Learning) London conferences at SOAS, City of London School and the BFI.

25th Camberwell Scouts and Dulwich Explorers

Dulwich College provides facilities

and staff for the 25th Camberwell Scouts and Dulwich Explorers, comprising 15 Cubs, 75 Scouts and 55 Explorers.

City Heights E-ACT Academy athletics day;

Indoor rowing taster session for Year 4 students of Paxton Primary School;

Southwark Schools athletics days with 700 local students;

Gipsy Hill Foundation athletics days with 1,000 local students from Years 1 to 6; Overload U10 Football Tournament for 22 local schools and an U12 Football Tournament for six local schools; Primary Schools’ swimming gala with 140 pupils from local schools; A PSV Eindhoven coaching day with 50 gifted and talented pupils from 22 schools in Southwark and Lambeth.

“There were loads of teams so we played lots of matches, it was a brilliant day.” Ollie, aged 10 Wellbeing Dulwich College works with St Martin-in- the-Fields High School for Girls, sharing ideas and resources from the Dulwich CollegeWellbeing programme.
