Maid service, laundry, and an underground garage with atten­ dant parking are also available fea­ tures. A special dining room will be a part of John Brown Towers. A major medical program is avail­ able in conjunction with the John Brown Convalescent Hospital which adjoins the Towers. Mr. Hugh Gibbs is architect. Long Beach is a city of nearly 400,000 and the Towers themselves are located three miles from the Pacific Ocean. Size of the apartments vary from 365 square feet for the efficiency room to 915 square feet for a two-bedroom, two-bath accommoda­ tion. The structure is both fire proof and sound proof. Social life is designed for maximum enjoyment. The spacious lobby, a small auditorium for lectures, con­ certs, movies and chapel services, a library, and small club or hobby rooms are all available for residents. In addition, a planned religious pro­ gram is anticipated for guests. It is expected that the facilities will be completed approximately March 1, al­ though advance registrations are now being accepted. The Towers Restaurant, with seat­ ing for 96, provides optional service morning, noon and evening. The cen­ tral dining room includes both in­ door and patio dining rooms. Guests may pay for their meals daily or receive a bill for them at the end of each month. The John Brown Convalescent Hos­ pital, a 72-bed facility, includes all of the most modem equipment and the finest care is available at a daily or monthly charge to the residents of the John Brown Towers. There will also be a special physical therapy department. John Brown Towers are located at 3737 Atlantic Avenue, Long Beach 7, California.
