BIBLE STUDY OUTLINiES

Won’t you make rom in your heart for an ORPHAN at Christmastime?

Christmas will have a new and deeper meaning for you and your family if you will decide NOW to sponsor one of these lovely but destitute Korean orphans. For only $10 a month (just 30 pennies a day) you can underwrite the complete care of a saddened child who is eagerly awaiting the “news from America” that someone has heard his cry for the necessities of life—and above all, for love and affection. Yes, each child wants desperately to be wanted, to be loved, and to love in return. ORPHANS ARE PRAYING FOR SPONSORS “It is simply heartbreaking,” writes Mrs. Kim In Sook, superintendent of our Blue Bird Orphanage, “to listen to the prayers of unsponsored children. They are praying that their ‘sponsors may come very soon’ and some of them feel that the reason they do not have sponsors is ‘because they have sinned.’” For their sins, their superintendent points them to Christ. Only YOU can answer their plea for a loving sponsor—a “Mommy” and “Daddy” for Christmas. Your answer will thrill the hearts of the children and assure their faith as you share with them the TRUE MEAN ING of Christmas. Tragedy stalked these children. Kee Hyun (S-l) found wandering alone in bus station by Army M.P. and brought to orphanage. Ie Taek (S-2) parents unknown, picked up while begging in street. Myung Sun’s (S-4) father died of disease, mother remarried, disappeared and abondoned child, All children pic tured here, and many, many more, are without sponsors. As sponsor you will receive the child’s name, photo, address, as well as a photo of the orphanage home and group of children who live there. If old enough, the child will write (translated into English), and your heart will be “strangely warmed” with this new and wonderful contact. If child is too young to write, a staff member will do so. LARGEST WORK OF ITS KINO IN KOREA EVERETT SWANSON, Founder and Director f~l Yes, I want to sponsor an orphan. A SOLEMN QUESTION Where art thou? Genesis 3:9 God puts to every man and woman a very solemn question. I. A Question All Ought to Answer 1. We should want to know how we stand before God. 2. We must answer the question some day. II. How to Consider and Answer It 1. Seriously. 2. Deliberately. 3. Honestly. 4. Prayerfully. 5. Scripturally. III. The Most Important Points to Con sider in Regard to Our Standing 1. Are you saved or are you lost? 2. Are you a child of God or a child of the devil? 3. Are you for Christ or against Him? 4. Are you an earnest, consecrated Christian or a lukewarm and world ly one? Some know where they are — saved. Others cannot answer the question. What is your answer? — R. A. Torrey WE KNOW , OR WE HAVE TH E ASSURANCE (Acts 17:31) 1. The assurance of our redemption (I John 3:5). The Redeemer has been provided for us (John 3:2; I Peter 1:18, 19). 2. The assurance of knowing the true way (John 14:4). Not one way—or one of many ways— the way (John .14:6; Acts 4:10-12). 3. The assurance of the believer’s standing (I John 3:14). Relationship to the Father through the Son (I Corinthians 15:1; Romans 5:1, 2 ). 4. The assurance of answered prayer (I John 5:15). By answered prayer our faith has been strengthened (Luke 11:9, 10; Matthew 7:7). 5. The assurance of a life of victory (I John 5:18). He who has the power to save—has the power to keep (John 10:27-29; II Timothy 1:12). 6. The assurance of our divine guidance (Romans 8:28). Mr. Martin’s song, “God will take care of you” (Jude 1:24; Acts 8:26). 7. The assurance of our future inherit ance (I John 3:2). To he with Him and to be like Him is all I need (John 19:25; Ephesians 1: 14). The word “earnest” is* a deposit, a pledge, a foretaste, a guarantee, a first installment, an assurance, an advance installment.
