T his will be a challenge to put into words the extraordinary and wonderful experience of working with Melissa on both the sale of one property and the purchase of another. We began the “journey” a year ago, when we asked Melissa to advise us on preparing for a move two-to-five years in the future. After examining the property, Melissa gave us a to-do list – including estimated costs.Melissa returned a few months later, this time with instructions that we’d like to move sometime in the next eighteen months. She responded by “kicking it into gear” and becoming an Energizer Bunny of advice, guidance, and setting of expectations. She took charge and never let up. In addition to the sales to-do list, she began a purchase “desirables list” and encouraged us to attend open houses so as to add to the list. She was aware of our eighteen-month window and never pressured us into making a decision (or if she did, she acknowledged our desire not to move forward).Several months and many open houses later, she excitedly said “You have GOT to see this property”. We don’t know how she found it, but the property checked every box on our list and we bought it. A few weeks later Melissa held the first open house on our current property. Both she and the property were “ready”. At times we felt like we were Melissa’s only client. The house sold in four days, at a price higher than the asking price.Nearly every real estate transaction has glitches. Our transactions were no exceptions – except that Melissa was exceptional in resolving them, sometimes working seven days a week to make it happen.
