IP To Build Largest Corrugated Plant In U.S. In Waterloo, Iowa

International Paper has announced plans to build a new corrugated box plant in Waterloo, Iowa, marking a signifi- cant addition to its U.S. manufacturing footprint. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2025, with the facility targeted to come online in the fourth quarter of 2026. Once operational, the plant is expected to employ more than 200 people, and approximately 85 new local job opportunities will be created to support the new plant. The site is being constructed as a large-scale, modern operation designed to support a wide range of corrugated packaging needs. Planned capabilities include advanced converting equipment with integrated quality systems, along with on-site design and testing labs to support packaging de- velopment. The facility will also incorporate regional ware- housing and inventory programs aimed at improving sup- ply chain visibility for customers across the Midwest and beyond.
