Minority Groups b y R o b e r t M cK em e y T hose words do som e th ing to you, don’t they? Is your reac tion positive or negative? I suspect it’s negative, at least at first. Why? Probably because so many minority groups are on nega tive crusades these days. Destroy the System. Tear Down! Anti-! Have you ever pondered the power of a minority? Comm un is ts are a m in o rity group. The blacks in our country are a minority group, but they’ve changed your world, haven’t they? The large majority of Americans didn’t wan t B ib le read ing and prayer out of our schools— but it’s out. Just look what happens when people — minority groups — unite with a purpose! Christians are a minority group — always have been. But the plain fact is that united we can exert an influence far out of proportion to our number. One of the things that's building a fire under the new “ Mobilization Evangelism” program here in Japan is this realization. The Christians here number less than V i of 1%. Yet they are beginning to realize the power of an active minority, and they are getting together. In the next few years they plan to shake this whole nation for Christ. Reminds you of a certain 12 men, doesn’t it? It’s great to belong to a minority group with some real answers for today. But it’s even greater to be on a team that's taking some unit ed action. If you happen to find yourself in our minority group, how about considering involvement? Are you with us? Mr. Robert McKemey works with Far Eastern Gospel Crusade. 4 6
