تــوازن القــوى، النظــام الدولــي، النظــام أحــادي القطبيــة، الكلمــات المفتاحيــة: . الصيــن، روســيا Abstract This book falls within the wave of geopolitical analyses that focus on the power balances during a transitional period in the international system, overshadowed by the potential shift from a unipolar world to a new, still unclear order. After years of absolute dominance following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States has entered a new phase, marked by increasing challenges to its central position in the world. Based on various measurement indicators, strategic analysis literature identifies the powers likely to disrupt this unipolar structure as an Asian power—China—and a Eurasian power—Russia. This challenge is further intensified by the growing strength of the strategic alliance between the two opposing powers, which so far has proven robust. Both are driven by a widespread conviction among their leaders that the West has been on a downward economic slope since the 2008 financial crisis, and politically, is grappling with the crisis of democracies and the rise of populism in Europe and America. Beyond these objective factors, the author suggests there is also a psychological element: the desire for revenge for the historical humiliations endured by China and Russia in their confrontations with the West. The author structures his analysis of the struggle for leadership around two critical points of conflict: one already ignited in Ukraine and the other potentially erupting in Taiwan. He dissects the elements of power available to each side, the possibilities of confrontation or cooperation, and revisits history—especially the 20th century—to compare the current state of the international system with similar moments of escalation. The analysis is rich in its multiplicity of perspectives and astute assessment of the indicators, yet it does not escape the Western centrality that bends the facts to fit the geopolitical vision of the Western world, to the detriment of the narratives of others, both in the East and the Global South. Keywords: balance of power, international system, unipolar system, China, Russia.
