Holiday West Spring Summer 2025

Walk this way with Cowalfest 2025!

There’s nothing better than a walk in nature to lift the soul and get the blood pumping! The Cowalfest walking festival, show- casing the stunning lochs, glens and mountains of the Cowal peninsula in Argyll, fully embraces that spirit of adventure. First held in 2003, the event has become one of Scotland’s biggest and best walk- ing festivals with ramblers of all ages and abilities taking part in a programme of guided and special interest walks as well as other associated events includ- ing a ceilidh. Cowalfest hit the comeback trails in 2024 after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic and bad weather with the 2025 event, taking place from Septem- ber 18th to 22nd promising to be one of the best yet. Cowalfest chair Andy Armstrong explained:“The 2024 festival attracted walkers from across the UK and proved

to be a great success. “This year’s five-day festival will build on that with a number of new walks led by expert and knowledgeable guides. “Not only can walkers create long lasting friendships but they can learn about the amazing wildlife, geology and rich history of this wonderful corner of Argyll. “There are walks to suit all fitness levels with families made more than welcome and dog walkers able to participate on many of the routes. “We look forward once again to wel- coming local people, tourists and visi- tors alike to what will be another great festival of walking,”added Andy. The full programme of walks will be unveiled over the coming weeks and months and anyone interested can visit www.cowalfest.com and through regu- larly updated social media channels on Facebook and Instagram.
