THE MAJESTIC LINE

The perfect choice for intimate cruises around Scotland

T he Majestic Line is a boutique Scottish cruise company offering exceptional small-ship cruises along Scotland’s stunning west coast and the Hebrides. Since its inception in 2004, The Majestic Line has focused on creating intimate and immersive travel experiences, allowing guests to explore some of Scotland’s most scenic and remote areas. By repurposing traditional fishing vessels into comfortable cruise ships, the company offers a unique and eco- friendly way to discover the unspoiled beauty of Scotland’s coastline. A Bit of History The company was born out of a vision to provide visitors with access to Scotland’s hidden gems, places often inaccessible to larger vessels. The Majestic Line initially started with just two vessels, The Glen Massan and The Glen Tarsan, both refurbished wooden fishing boats. These small ships retained their rustic charm while being equipped with modern amenities for a comfortable onboard experience. Over the years, the fleet expanded to include two purpose-built steel vessels, the Glen Etive and the Glen Shiel, designed specifically for cruising in style while minimizing environmental impact. In 2024, The Majestic Line was acquired by Craig of Campbeltown Ltd, a well- established family business from the west of Scotland, with a long history of providing high-quality transport and tourism services. This acquisition has

further strengthened The Majestic Line’s operations, ensuring its continued growth while maintaining its unique, small-scale cruising experience. The company’s name, “The Majestic Line,” is inspired by the fictional cruise line mentioned in Neil Munro’s famous Para Handy stories, set on a Clyde puffer boat. The scene makes note that Majestic Line boats can be recognised by their golden funnels, in another detail that has carried through to the line’s real-life iteration. The Ultimate Scottish Cruise Experience The Majestic Line offers an unparalleled way to explore Scotland’s rugged coastline, serene sea lochs, and enchanting islands. With a maximum of 12 passengers per vessel, cruises are small-scale and highly personal, creating a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Meals are a highlight of the trip, with chefs sourcing fresh, local produce to create delicious dishes that showcase Scotland’s exceptional culinary heritage. Guests are treated to hearty breakfasts, light lunches, and sumptuous three- course dinners paired with a selection of wines and Scottish whiskies. Itineraries typically include visits to secluded anchorages, uninhabited islands, and historic sites. Activities such as wildlife watching, beach walks, and exploring quaint coastal villages are guest-favourites.
