Object: A piece of paper 41 / 4 x 11 inches. ( Across the length of the paper print the word “ L-I-F-E,” spaced evenly over the entire 11 inches. Fold the “ L” and the “ E” backward, leaving the letters “ I-F” in view. Turn the paper over and in the relative posi tion of the “ IF,” print the letters “ V- I.” When the “ L” and the “ E” are folded backward, the word “ E-V-I-L” w ill be spelled out.) Lesson: On this piece of paper we see the word ‘‘LIFE,” which reminds us of a king of Judah. Of him it was said, “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according tr all that his father Amaziah did. And he sought God in the days of Zecha- riah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper” (2 Chr. 26:4, 5). A part of the Lord’s prospering him is told in verse 10, “Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains.” You would think that he would have been content to be a king, with such blessings, but he was dissatisfied, for we read, “ But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruc tion: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to bum incense upon the altar of incense” (2 Chr. 26:16). It was displeasing to God fora king to take the place of a priest. For this great sin, Uzziah was stricken with leprosy and died. As you look at this word “ LIFE,” you will notice that the two leters in the middle spell “ IF,” suggesting doubt. The king had pride in his heart, and thinking there was some thing else in life for him besides being a king, he tried being a priest — thus displeasing God and bringing His judgment. I will fold the first and last letters of the word “ LIFE” back, leaving, the word “ IF.” As we turn the paper over we see that these letters which were a part of “ LIFE” have become a part of the word “ EVIL.” Let us be careful lest we turn that which is a part of our “ LIFE” into “ EVIL” by doubting God’s plan for our lives.

Here is a film that is fascinating yet startling as it reveals how fearfully and wonderfully we are made. It is the story of the most efficient mechanism in the world, the human heart and the blood stream. Motion pictures taken inside an actual human heart show how this delicate mechanism con stantly keeps death away— makes both young and old stand in awe and adoration before the God of our creation.
