Dear Aunt Betty: W e liked what you wrote the boy in the recent King’s Business about going steady. 1 thought you would like to hear what we have done in our class to solve this problem. I am 14 and all of the girls in our group are from 13 to 15. Going steady was ruining all of our good times. W e couldn’t even go a hike without hav ing a steady bay friend. It got so the girls who didn’t have dates stayed at home and I was one of them for my folks don’t want me to date yet. So one night a bunch of us decided to “ organize.” W e formed a club which we call the N.S. Club (N o Steadies Club). W e elected officers, made laws and by-laws and ordered a pin to wear. W e never had so much fun in our lives. W e meet every two weeks in the members’ homes and play games and have refreshments and do something for others. At Thanksgiv ing we helped pack baskets for peo ple who needed them. Now we are collecting Christmas cards and cut ting off the personal messages to send to missionaries. Not all of the mem bers are Christians. But / am, and I suggested last meeting we invite a missionary to speak to us, and the girls all agreed. The funny part of it is that we have had many calls from boys for dates but we make it plain no going steady till we finish High School. What do you think of this idea? The N. S. Club Name of town withheld Dear “ N.S.” ers: I think this is most ingenious and I am with you one hundred per cent. Don’t be exclusive and don’t give the idea that you consider yourselves superior in any way. By all means keep doing something worth-while for others. God bless you.
