The 13 destinations featured in this book are the self-reported hometowns of Berlin park drug sellers* who were willing to reveal their mother tongue, place of origin and migration route to Europe. Scott Holmquist conducted the interviews between 2015 and 2017, on some occasions with the Gambian refugee-activist Moro Yapha. In Berlin’s Görlitzer and Hasenheide Parks over 250 people were approached, of which 159 were interviewed. These destinations were offered using “Travel Portal”, a workstation composed of a desk, stools and computers terminals listing airline, hotel, and restaurant links for each. The terminals were installed before a large travel map tipping North to East, with West Africa prominently featured at the top and Europe at the far right. The Travel Portal was also online for the duration of the exhibition. *In January 2019 Dealer J began serving a three-year sentence in a German prison for possession of cannabis with intent to sell in Görlitzer Park.
