COLONEL RONALD E. CHEATHAM Colonel Ronald E. Cheatham is the Vice Wing Commander, 501st Combat Support Wing, US Air Forces in Europe, headquartered at Royal Air Force Alconbury, United Kingdom. The 501st CSW provides world-class combat support from eight installations throughout the U.K. and Norway, enabling critical intelligence, communications and global strike operations. The diverse mission portfolio of the 501st CSW includes the maintenance and operation of a bomber forward operation location, theater munitions movements and storage capabilities, global command and control communications capabilities to three combatant commanders, a communications access site, and support for the theater intelligence operations. The wing provides support to nearly 70 different US military and government agencies and a community of 14,000 people throughout the U.K. and Norway as it

effectively enables combat effectiveness to mission partners from the NATO Joint Warfare Centre at Stavanger, US European Command, US Africa Command and NATO intelligence analysis units at RAF Molesworth and Air Force Global Strike Command at RAF Fairford and RAF Welford. Col Cheatham earned his commission in 1996 from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He has held several command and staff positions at the base, major command, Air Staff and Joint Staff level. He has commanded squadrons in-garrison and in a deployed environment. His deployments include Operations ENDURING FREEDOM and IRAQI FREEDOM, where he served in combat convoy operations with the 732d Expeditionary Mission Support Group, the combat airmen.
