CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT SAMUEL J. SHAW SR.
Chief Master Sergeant Samuel J. Shaw Sr. is Chief, Senior Enlisted Management Division, Reserve Senior Leader Management Office, Office of the Air Force Reserve, Air Force Pentagon, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for the management of Air Force Reserve Senior Enlisted Leaders assigned to Air Force Reserve Command key Senior Master Sergeant and Chief Master Sergeant positions. CMSgt Shaw was born in Nampa, Idaho in 1968. He worked throughout much of his youth and completed an in-home educational program in 1986. He worked several more jobs prior to reporting to Lackland Air Force Base, Texas for basic military training on January 30, 1989 and later beginning his first active duty assignment in Berlin, Germany. After three assignments, he transferred into the Air Force Reserve in 1998. As a reservist, CMSgt Shaw has directly supported National Security Agency/Central Security Service, US Space Command, US Northern Command US Strategic Command, and multiple units within Air Combat Command. In 2010- 2011, he served as Superintendent, Multi-national Forces – Iraq, Joint Intelligence
Directorate, Document and Media Exploitation, Camp Slayer, Iraq. During 2013 he served full-time as the 544 th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group Superintendent while his active duty counterpart was deployed. CMSgt Shaw’s previous assignment was as Chief Enlisted Manager, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance Directorate and Major Command Functional Manager of the more than two thousand Reserve Airmen assigned in the twelve core enlisted ISR career fields.
