CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT RAYMOND A. SMITH

Chief Master Sergeant Raymond A. Smith is the Chief of Air, Space, Cyberspace, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Operations (A2/3/6 Directorate), Air Force Space Command, Peterson AFB, Colorado. Chief Smith serves as the senior enlisted advisor in AFSPC’s largest directorate of 750 active duty, reserve, and civilian personnel, spanning ten divisions and two squadrons. He is the key advisor for operational policy, procedures, training, and guidance for 25 operational space, airfield, and cyberspace mission areas across two Numbered Air Forces, two Centers, and eight operational wings and integrating space and cyber capabilities at the operational level of war. Additionally, he coordinates with MAJCOM Functional Managers to ensure required manning at operational units across Air Force Space Command. CMSgt Smith entered the Air Force in October 1994 as a munitions systems specialist. After completion of training, he was stationed at Spangdahlem AB, Germany and assigned to the missile maintenance section as a precision guided munitions crew member. CMSgt Smith later

retrained into space operations in 1998. His background includes various duties in Space Operations at the unit and major-command levels. Throughout his career, he has filled a myriad of roles including additional-duty First Sergeant, Squadron and Division Superintendent. His assignments include bases in Colorado, California, Germany and Hawaii. CMSgt Smith has deployed in support of Operations Northern Watch, Southern Watch, Deliberate Force and Provide Comfort.
