TRADE SHOW NEWS LOUPE India 2026 To Offer Converters Opportunities
Digital Payments (CONT’D FROM PAGE 41)
Key benefits for FTA members include: Improved Cash Flow . It enable faster and more efficient payment acceptance, reducing delays between job com- pletion and payment receipt, so flexographic printers and converters can keep production moving without waiting on receivables. Reduced Transaction Costs . SFP enables the passing of enhanced transaction data to card brands, helping busi- nesses qualify for lower interchange rates and reduce over- all processing expenses, adding to the savings FTA mem- bers already see through SFP’s existing member benefit. Seamless Payment Integration . Businesses can accept payments directly within the PressWise platform, creating a frictionless customer experience and improving time to cash from proof approval through final delivery. Driving Operational Efficiency in Flexographic Print- ing . PressWise’s all in one platform enables flexographic printing and converting companies to manage their entire workflow from a centralized system. This partnership enhances that value by embedding digital payments directly into daily operations, eliminating manual processes and improving visibility across the full payment lifecycle, another way SFP is helping FTA mem- bers run leaner, more profitable shops. Südpack Adds Flexographic Printing Capabilities Südpack’s Competence Center for flexo printing in Kło- buck, Poland, has invested in a high-performance flexo print system. The new printing system is designed to han- dle a wide variety of flexible packaging materials for the food industry. Seeing Stars The star-shaped configuration of the printing units, combined with the mounting of the printing-unit shafts, is designed for optimum print quality. Designed for ex- tra-wide webs, long repeat lengths, and high speeds, the new machine enables the company to process large print runs quickly, flexibly, and efficiently. Ready For Industry 4.0 The optimized workflow is designed to shorten lead times from the pre-press stage through to the finished product. The machine is Industry 4.0-ready: connectivity with IoT and ERP systems facilitates data sharing and provides a foundation for workflow optimization. Two integrated, independent high-speed robots en- able fully automated job changeovers. With the printing machine still running, the cylinders for up to four subse- quent orders can be set up in advance. RFID identification helps the printing specialists match carrier cylinders, an- ilox rolls, and sleeves correctly.
Short run flexible packaging technology has firmly es- tablished itself alongside the core labels element of LOUPE India 2026, taken place October 29-November 1, 2026 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, Del- hi NCR. This closely follows the trend seen at Labelexpo shows over the last 12 years and at the recent LOUPE Americas 2026 (formerly Labelexpo Americas) show. LOUPE India 2026 demonstrates how narrow and mid-web technology developed for label production is being used to convert flexible packaging materials. The growth of flexible packaging at Labelexpo, now LOUPE, follows the development of wider digital and in-line flexo presses. In-line flexo presses configured
for flexible packaging are typically in the 26in/670mm width range, while the HP Indigo 200K is 30in/762mm wide. Flexible packaging is still feasible on narrower web presses, but the larger format size of flexible packs compared to labels does favor the wider web width. Flexo presses printing flexible packaging will often be configured with extended drier stations to handle water-based coatings and may also include in-line lamination modules. Label converters can apply their existing skillsets in digital and in-line flexo/offset label printing to flexible packaging. The big knowledge gap which needs to be filled is in materials. Unlike labels, flexible packaging is the direct product container, so the label converter must understand factors including barrier properties, migra- tion regulations, the properties of different multi-lamina- tion layers, sealing properties and web tension. India is one of the fastest-growing global pack- aging markets, helped by rising consumer spending power, high-paced industrialization and the expansion of eCommerce. India’s annual flexible packaging output is well over 5 million tonnes, consisting overwhelmingly of com- modity film produced at a low unit cost on wide-web gravure and CI flexo presses.
